Mantua Sign & Lighting started off as Signs of all Kinds. When the company decided to go in another direction (going after more corporate work, installs and service), it was time to rebrand. The company changed the name, and needed a new logo, fleet lettering, apparel, and branded print work.
I started with a few concepts. I knew the color scheme I wanted to implement after a color psychology test [blue for trust and dependability, green for nature conservation (encouraging customers to move away from neon and fluorescent and use LEDs whenever possible), and gray for solidarity]. The company was moving towards more of a clean, corporate look instead of the small business, graphical look.
Originally I really wanted to incorporate the fact the company was moving into more of an electrical company dealing with electric signs, more than print work, but ultimately decided the logo should be able to represent all areas of the field without being married to one aspect.
The final logo was chosen with an M emblem that could become the icon for the company. The design is clean, recognizable, and versatile.
